### Significance of Math for MTEL

The Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) is a computer-based evaluation test conducted by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. It judges the tutors and educational professionals seeking a licence to teach students of prekindergarten to grade 12. The test evaluates the subject expertise of educators in the license they aspire for along with gauging their levels of proficiency in their communication with students, parents, guardians and their co-faulty. - Mathematics or Elementary Mathematics or Mathematics (Middle School)

- Geometry & Measurement
- Statistics & Probability

10% of the test content is based on Integration of Knowledge & Understanding**Test Content (b):**

**Test Structure for Subject Matter Math MTEL Tests:**- It includes 100 multiple-choice questions with four options to choose from.
- It includes 2 open-response questions where the candidate is required to spend about 20-30 minutes to prepare for the response.

- Patters, Relations & Algebra
- Geometry & Measurement
- Data Analysis, Statistics, Probability
- Trigonometry, Calculus & Discrete Mathematics
