LSAT Center: Regulations

You are required to carry an ID proof with you for the exam. The IDs that are acceptable at the test centers are passport, driving license or other government-issued ID, student ID. The ID must sufficiently authenticate your identification to test center supervisor and must be kept with you throughout the testing process, as it may be checked at any time. You will not be allowed to enter the test centers without proper identification.

You should bring sufficient number of sharpened No. 2 or HB (for Canadian centers) pencils and good erasers to the center. You should record all the answers on youranswer sheet in pencil only. Mechanical pencils are not allowed. You will not be provided any stationery. Other than the essential items mentioned above, you may bring into the test room a small clear plastic bag, which must be stored under the chair and may be accessed only during the break. The bag may contain LSAT Admission Ticket, ID proof; wallet, keys, pencils, high lighter, erasers, pencil sharpener. Electronic timing devices are not permitted during the exam.

As mentioned in the above paragraphs, the conduct of students is very important and you should stick to the test center’s regulations. Some of them have been mentioned in the following paragraphs.

First and foremost you should be very punctual as far as reporting to the test center is concerned. Latecomers are not permitted, once the exam starts. If you are taking LSAT then you should follow all the instructions given by the supervisor for the exam at all times. If you do not follow the instructions of the exam, you can be issued a warning notice. If the supervisor is not satisfied with the proof of identification produced by you, he has the authority to deny you admission. The supervisor also has the authority to decide the seating arrangements at thecenter. He also maintains the record of start and stop time. His timings will be considered the official time. He will announce the timings for each section including a warning time of five minutes for each section.

You may keep an analog watch with you for keeping a check on time. You are also required to give a thumbprint at the time of the exam. These thumbprints will however be destroyed after the test’s scores become invalid. You are also required to sign a statement on your answer sheet that you are taking this test only for admission purposes. You are not allowed to use any type of scrap paper during the exam.

If you bring any prohibited items on the exam day, or use them during the break, the test supervisor can confiscate the items. You will be given a warning, dismissal from the center and cancellation of the score by LSAC. The same treatment can be given to students who violatecenter’s regulations. Test takers may be served an LSAT Misconduct/ Irregularities Warning Notice and their cases will be referred to the LSAC for further investigation.
