Steps To Be Followed During ASVAB Registration

Step-by-step ASVAB Sign Up Procedure

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery or ASVAB is an examination taken by those who wish to work in the U.S Armed Forces. On the other hand, there is no obligation on your part to join any one of the branches of the military after you have taken the test. This exam is very important because it will determine whether or not you are eligible for enlistment. You cannot skip this test because without the result of this exam, it will not be possible for you to join the service that you wish to work in. The test has two versions:

  • The computer-based version or the CAT-ASVAB
  • The pen and paper version

Generally, about 70% of the test takers choose to take the CAT-ASVAB and there are ten sub tests in this version, which you need to finish in 154 minutes. It is not necessary for you to have knowledge of using computers to take the test online. On the other hand, the pen and paper version of the exam consists of nine sub tests and you will have to complete the exam in 149 minutes. From among these both, you should choose the version that you prefer and are most comfortable with. Moreover, you will need to specify whether you would like to take the test online or on paper at the time you apply for the examination.
