SAT Test Schedule for the Coming Years

Why the Test Schedule?

It is always useful to prepare for any standardized test in advance so that you are less nervous and well prepared for the test. The SAT test schedule 2011 is due in November and December; the registration date for the SAT test in November is over. It is good to know about the SAT test schedule 2011 so that you can plan your schedule accordingly. You can use the tentative SAT test schedule 2011 and compare them with the admission dates of colleges you want to apply to and then decide when to take the test. For example, if the college you are applying to or want to apply to wants your SAT scores by September/October, you will need to take the test earlier. If the college uses SAT scores for their January session, then you have the option to take it later.

When is the Test?

The SAT and SAT Subject Tests are conducted many times a year, from January through December. This allows you to take the test more than once in order to improve your score. There might be situations when the test may be rescheduled although this is not a very common phenomenon; the test was rescheduled only once during the SAT test schedule 2011.

The SAT Test Schedule

The SAT test schedule 2011 is similar to the previous years and will be in the same pattern for the next few years. The SAT test schedule for the first half of 2012 is already displayed on the CollegeBoard website. However, the registration deadlines for US and International applicants are different. The SAT test schedule dates for US applicants are as follows:

As is evident, the SAT test is held the same day as the SAT Subject Test; as a result, you can appear for only one test on a given day. In case you plan to appear for the SAT Subject Tests, you will need to register for an alternate date after consulting the college dates.

The SAT test schedule usually falls on the following days in the respective month:

• 4^th Saturday in January
• 2^nd Saturday in October
• 1^st Saturday in May, June, November, and December

For those students who cannot take the test on a Saturday due to religious observations, the test is held on the Sunday following the Saturday test date. For example, a student can take the test on 29^th January, which is a Sunday.

The SAT schedule is very helpful because it allows you to plan and prioritize your activities. Thus, you can use the SAT test schedule to plan your test dates. Effective planning is key to achieving high scores in the SAT test. When you plan for the test, you can pace your preparation accordingly in addition to your other activities, such as school exams, homework, and extracurricular activities because they are also an important factor in getting you admitted in a good college.
