SAT Dates 2011

Ideal SAT Dates In the Coming Years

SAT is an entrance examination for all the colleges in the United States. It tests students in areas of mathematical knowledge, verbal aptitude and writing skills. Apart from the main SAT exam, there is also a SAT subject test. This test is for specific fields like English, History, Math, Languages and Science. This test will enable you to showcase your suitability for a particular program and hence it is very useful when applying to different universities.

How to decide

You should have an idea about all SAT dates 2011 in order to decide when to take the test. When deciding on a date for taking SAT, you should consider the following parameters-

  • Your readiness to take the test
  • Admission deadlines for the universities
  • Adequate preparation for the subject tests

When to take the test

It is possible for you to take the test any number of times, but most of the students don’t take it more than twice. It is advisable that you take the exam once during the spring of your junior year and the fall of your senior year, since you will have sufficient knowledge at this stage to attempt the test. The subject tests on math, history, biology, physics and chemistry should be taken immediately after completing the course on the subject, however students tend to perform better in languages after one or two years of study. Additional Information

All these deadlines apply to the US testing centers and they expire at mid-night as per the US standard time. Subjects like math levels 1 and 2, physics, chemistry, literature, US history and biology are offered on all dates except March 10th. Since there are only two days available in the SAT dates 2011 table, you should consider giving the test in the next year 2012 if you are not well prepared.

Also, note that the registration for SAT dates 2011 and 2012 is flexible and there is a standard procedure for late registration. Another feature is the option to make changes to your subject tests and venues. You can avail all these features within the given deadlines. There is an additional fee applicable for availing these features. For more details on the SAT dates 2011/2012 and the use of these features visit the official SAT website www.collegeboard.org.
