MCAT test

The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is a test required by almost all medical colleges in the U.S. This is a test to assess the thinking, writing and problem solving capabilities of a student aspiring to join the medical college in the U.S. The medical knowledge of the candidate is evaluated through the MCAT test. The admission processes depends on the MCAT test score. This does not mean that the MCAT test is the only way to get oneself admitted to a medical college in the U.S. The MCAT test is one of the important gateways to admission.

The MCAT test score is valid for the next three years. Beyond that the student must go in for one more MCAT test. Immense preparation must be done before attending the MCAT test. There came up a new pattern of the MCAT test in the year 1990. It was designed in a way that it would test the thinking and analyzing capacity of the student. This was very important in the life of a medical student because thousands of lives are dependant on these professionals everyday. The basic knowledge on subjects like physics, chemistry and biology are tested through this test. The MCAT test is designed and formatted by the Association of American Medical Colleges. It has four sections of verbal reasoning, physical sciences, biological sciences and a writing sample in all. The MCAT test encourages the students in opting health profession as their career.
