LSAT stands for Law School Admission Test. The LSAT exam is designed and conducted by LSAC (Law School Admission Council). LSAT is valid for candidates who wish to join ABA (American Bar Association) approved law schools in the US and Canada. Many non ABA approved law schools also require candidates to clear LSAT for admissions. Thousands of candidates around the world appear for the LSAT exam every year. The LSAT exam is designed to give the law schools a standard measure for comparing the candidates for their aptitude in reasoning. The LSAT exam contains 101 questions with multiple choice answers. You get a raw score out of 101. The LSAT exam does not involve negative marking. The raw score is then converted on a scale of 120 to 180. The essay writing section is allotted 30 minutes and rest of the sections gets 35 minutes each. The total duration of the LSAT exam is around four and half hours including the breaks.

For the online LSAT exam registration you need to become the member of LSAC. This membership is valid for five years and is free of cost. In the online method, maintenance of your results and the admission processing is done by LSAC through its service called LSDAS (Law School Data Assembly Service).
