Breakdown of ICTS Scores

The Illinois Certification Testing System (ICTS) comprises a battery of tests, each designed to evaluate your capability for becoming a successful educator. Moreover, it is compulsory for you to take the ICTS test, if you want to become a part of the Illinois education department.     • The ATP test consists of 120 multiple-choice questions and 2 writing assignments. Here too, the total number of correct answers that you provide will result in the 'raw scores'. These 'raw scores' are converted to 'scaled scores' with the scale ranging from 100 to 300. The 2 essays that you write are graded and scored separately.

    • Each of the Content Area tests consists of 2 sub-parts, where the first section consists of 125 multiple-choice questions and the second part, or the Special Education General Curriculum Test, comprises 65 multiple-choice questions. Here you will receive 2 separate overall scores, based on the answers that you provide in the 2 sections of the test. The total number of correct answers that you give will result in the 'raw scores', which are then converted to 'scaled scores'. The scale ranges from 100 to 300. Here too the minimum marks that you need to attain, to pass the test, are 240.
