After you've taken online GMAT practice tests you will be handed over a score. You can now analyze your overall and section wise scores. You can also gauge the time taken by you for attempting each section and each question. You can check whether you are able to attempt all the questions or you have to leave out a few due to lack of time. At the end of your analysis you will have the statistics of your skill level and you will be able to zero on to your weak areas and your strong areas. Your GMAT preparation should now be planned in such a way that you devote more time in reviewing and increasing your skill and time management in weaker areas. You should also work towards further strengthening your strong areas.

If you have put in effort in the right direction you will find a definite improvement in your scores. You should then get back to your GMAT preparation to work on weak areas that you have now identified with the latest practice test. If you proceed in this way you will work towards improving your scores with each practice test and also you will be very familiar and comfortable with the CAT format on the actual day of the test.
