GED TEST PREP

GED test is a test, which is basically conducted to help the adults upgrade their education, which they must have left mid way by dropping out of high school. The American Council on Education conducts the GED test. The GED test is basically made up of five tests and the GED tests, which are being conducted nowadays, are the January 2002 edition. Before appearing for the main GED test, the candidate must undergo GED test prep so that he can get good score in the main GED test.



GATHERING INFORMATION

Before taking up any task, the most important thing that the individual should do is to gather all the relevant and important information regarding the task. Similarly, the candidate must acquire all the necessary information that will help him know better about the GED test prep. The candidate must gather information regarding the benefits of the GED Test and the future prospects of the GED tests.

The benefit of the GED test is that it helps the individual in upgrading his education and thus helps him pick a job of his own choice. The candidate should also gather information regarding the basic eligibility criterion that is compulsory to appear for the GED test. To be eligible to appear for the GED test, the examinee must be 18 years old and should not have enrolled in the high school as a regular student. Examinees who are 17 years old and want to sit for the GED test, need to submit a document of consent fully attested and signed by their parents or immediate guardians. In order to be eligible to attend the GED test prep classes, the candidate has to have attained at least 16 years of age or older and must not have enrolled himself in the high school. Such students also need to get a certificate issued from the principal of their high schools stating that they are no more enrolled in the respective schools. The original copy of the certificate should be submitted to the GED instructor at the time the candidate is completing the registration formalities.

Before getting himself enrolled for the GED course, the candidate has to take up an evaluation of reading and math. Once the candidate clears the evaluation tests, then he can join the GED test prep course.

The candidate must also collect information related to the duration of the GED test prep class, the number of subjects that come in the GED test and what subjects that he will have to study during the GED test prep class. The pattern of the test, the time period required to prepare for the GED test etc also need a thorough home work to be done before taking up the GED test prep.

It is very important to gather information regarding the pattern of the GED score, how the GED scores are divided into various parts etc. The candidate must get a minimum score of 410 in each of the five GED tests, and the total passing marks required are 2250.

In addition to all these, the candidate can also gain information about undergoing GED test prep in English, Spanish, French, and Braille and also use tape recorders.
