You must give adequate importance to your preparation. How to carry out preparation? Most test-takers would be seeking an answer to this question. You will need to look around for suitable study materials. How to utilize the study materials is another important aspect. In order to do well in the exam, you should analyze the questions, read the question completely up to the last line and try to figure out what has been asked. Mark the keywords in the question, underlining the keyword will help you save time and you will be able to straightaway find the answers to the questions.





While studying for questions based on maps, charts and photographs, look from the key point and analyze the material in light of that is very important. You can master this skill only by solving numerous practice questions. Start writing only after the process depicted is clear in your mind. Make sure you observe the trends, if suggested by the maps, charts, photographs etc. Your inability to mention an important trend may not give you desired scores. You should keep the time limit in mind and undertake your preparation accordingly.

Mathematics Test is made up of 50 questions and the time allotted to this test is 90 minutes. This test is divided into two parts. Part 1 allows the candidates to use a Casio FX- 260 Solar Calculator. In part 2 the candidate cannot use the calculator. Questions related to Geometry, Algebra, Data Analysis, Measurements, Statistics will be given.

You must have the basic knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. How to utilize this knowledge for problem solving is a skill that needs to be fine-tuned while you carry out your preparation.

While preparing for this test you must read the questions well, don't get confused, critically analyze what is being asked and then solve the questions. Since the questions are not entirely multiple-choice, this test will be time consuming as compared to other tests. Practice as many topics as possible every day. How to devote a minimum of 2 to 3 hours daily to the subject will have to be worked out by you. Since this test evaluates your thorough understanding of the mathematical concepts, practice as much mental math as possible.

The Language Arts, Reading Test is of 65 minutes and has 40 multiple - choice questions in total. Questions are divided into two parts. Part 1 contains questions related to poetry, drama and prose fiction. Part 2 has questions related to non -fiction prose. Reading test can range from 200 to 400 words, thus followed by questions. The topics and content are of general interest.

Preparing for the Reading test is very important. How to identify and retrieve factual information, understand the writer's point of view and distinguish between opinion, fact or assumption needs to be learnt. Try to understand the main points of the passage by recognizing ways of linking ideas, sentences and paragraphs. Because you have only 65 minutes to complete the test, read the heading first. This will give you a good general idea of what the passage is about. Scan and skim the text of the questions. You need not understand every detail. This is to get the general understanding of the passage. Turn to the questions and begin to work through them, referring back to the passage as you need to and reading the important section carefully and slowly. If you cannot find an answer or it is taking you a long time, leave it and come back to it at the end.
