Introduction to GED

The GED (General Education Development) Tests are administered by the GED Testing Service of the American Council on Education (ACE) with the assistance of each jurisdiction or state where the tests are carried out. The GED is monitored and accredited by the American Council on Education. Contrary to widespread belief, the actual GED test cannot be taken online. There are more than 3000 official GED testing centers throughout the US and Canada. GED testing centers are generally located in adult education centers, colleges, or schools. Students who want to take the GED can select a suitable testing center from various centers present in their state.

The GED test evaluates whether you possess skills and knowledge comparable to a high school degree. The GED is an accepted high school diploma for those adults who had to leave high school before graduating. A number of employers, colleges and training schools accept the GED diploma as an equivalent of a high school diploma.
