The CSET Physics test is a part of the third subtest of the Science exam and if you wish to teach this subject in school, then you need to make sure that you are taking necessary actions to prepare for the same effectively. You need to study all the topics that are included in this test so that you can answer them correctly. The areas that will be covered are Waves, Heat and Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism, Motion and Forces, Standard Model of Particles, Quantum Mechanics and Conservation of Energy and Momentum.
The questions that you are going to find in the test will include both constructed-responses as well as multiple-choice type questions. If you are faced with the latter type, then you will find four answer options for each question from where you need to select the right answer.
The total number of questions that you are going to find in this test will be 53, out of which 50 will be multiple-choice questions and 3 will be constructed-response questions.
In the Specialized Science Physics test, you will find that there are 41 questions in total; out of which 40 are multiple-choice questions and one is constructed-response question.
The topics on which the questions that will be asked in the Specialized Physics test are Magnetism & Electricity; Motion & Forces and Waves.
The questions that maybe asked may require you to calculate the value or speed and as such, you need to know the important formulas so that you can work on the same. For instance, you may be asked about the instantaneous vertical velocity of a ball and the values that will be given are the initial velocity and the angle of the ball.
Some questions will be in the form of a diagram where you will be required to refer to the same and then answer the questions accordingly. For example, you may find a drawing of a frictionless wheel with a cable and there is a block attached to this cable. The values of the block and the wheel will be given to you along with the velocity and the height at which it will be dropped. You will then be asked about the kinetic energy of this wheel.
It is very important that you know and understand the values of constants because the questions may require you to do calculations. If you do not know about the constants, then it can be difficult for you to answer the questions correctly.
You also need to spend some time getting yourself acquainted with the various diagrams that are found in the Physics books because it may so happen that the questions may be based on such diagrams. An example of one diagram is the Van De Graaf generator. It is a lab device that is utilized for the purpose of building up high voltage.
