Overview of the CSET English Exam

The English exam is taken on paper, for there is no computer-based version available at the moment.
This is a timed exam where you will be given a period of five hours to finish all the questions. If you cannot finish the subtests within this period of time, then you will still have to submit your papers for you will not be given any grace period. This is the reason why you need to be fast but careful when writing the test.
The reporting time of the exam is 7.30 am in California and this can differ in other states.
There are four subtests in the CSET English subtest and these are Subtest I, II, III & IV.
The questions that you will find in the test will be in the form of multiple choice as well as constructed-response type questions. Subtest I & II will have multiple choice questions, whereas subtest III & IV will have constructed response questions. The total number of questions in the first two subtests is 50 each. In Subtest III, you will find 2 questions and in Subtest IV there are 4 questions.
The scores for each CSET English subtest will be stated separately. You will be able to get your result within four weeks from the date of the examination. The result will be available online in the official website of the exam and you simply have to log into your account there and retrieve your result. Keep in mind that the result will only be available for 45 days and after that it will be deleted. You need to ensure that you print the same before this period is up.
