Format and Structure of the CBEST Test

The format of the test is very simple and basic. It is composed of three sections, all of which are conducted in English. The three sections of the CBEST are:

  1. Reading Section:

    There are 50 multiple-choice questions in the Reading section. You need to comprehend information that might be given in text, graphs, charts or even tables.   3. Writing Section:

    This section tests your writing skills by asking you to write two essays. Both the essay topics are compulsory to attempt. One essay topic asks you to cite a personal experience regarding the issue. The other essay topic asks you to present your views on a particular topic

The total test duration is four hours, and can be divided among these three sections in any way.

Registration and Scoring Information
