How to Choose a Testing Date for CBEST

The CBEST is conducted specifically in the state of California to evaluate the skills of potential teachers. There are three sections in this test: Reading, Writing and Mathematics and it can be taken in either paper-based or computer-based format. However, the most important thing to remember is that you need to know about the testing dates so that you can register yourself on a particular date.

  1. Paper Based Test: The dates for paper-based test are given as follows:

    1.   4th May: The last date for registration for this test date is the 5th of April. This registration can be done over the internet at the official website (http://www.cbest.nesinc.com/CA18_testdates.asp). With additional fee, you may even register by the 23rd of April. This can be done over the phone as well as over the internet. There is also an emergency registration deadline, which is 30th of April. However, to avail this facility you may have to pay an additional fee. The scores will be reported on the 20th of May.

    2. 13th July: The deadline for regular registration for this date is 14th of June. However, late registration is possible till 2nd of July by paying an additional fee. There is an emergency registration deadline which is 9th of July. The scores will be available on 29th of July.

  2. Computer Based Test: Important information on the computer-based dates are as follows:

    1. The computer-based CBEST is available as per appointments. There are no fixed dates, but sundays and some holidays are excluded. Registration Dates for CBEST

  1. Regular Registration Date: The registration for the examination by the regular deadline can be done only over the internet. This option is available for the full day at all days and dates. However, the registration process must be completed by 5:00 PM Pacific Time on the registration deadline.

  2. Late Registration Date: The registration in such a case can be done on the phone as well as on the internet. On the phone, registration can be done between 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Pacific Standard Time, on all days from Monday to Friday (excluding holidays). However, the internet registration is open on all days.

  1. Request Additional Copies of the Test Results: The test score report is available online for a period of 45 days after the actual test score has been reported. For extra copies of the results, you have to make a request and in such a case, the copies will be sent over only to you. The time taken to process this request is 1 week.

  2. Cancellation of Scores: This option is available only for paper based testing. For cancel your scores, you need to send a cancellation request with seven calendar days from the actual test date.
