The Department of Defenses of the U.S. administers the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB), which is a multi-aptitude test. About The ASVAB

There are three versions of the ASVAB:

3. The Student ASVAB- The student version of the ASVAB is taken up by students to identify their aptitudes in different subjects. There are eight subtests in this version and it is administered in the respective schools. The scores of this version can also be used for enlistment purposes if the test is taken up in the junior or senior year of the high school.

Testing Locations

There are typically three types of ASVAB Testing Locations. These are:

1. MEPS-The Military Station Processing Stations conduct the ASVAB. The CAT-ASVAB version of the test is administered at these centers. There are 65 such ASVAB testing locations across the U.S. The military recruiter after consultation with the candidate can fix a convenient date with the MEPS.

2. MET Sites- MET or the Mobile Examination Team is the travelling team of MEPS. The paper version of the ASVAB can be taken up in these MET sites. Usually, the National Guard Armories are the designated locations and the test is given on a scheduled basis.

3. High School- The ASVAB is conducted in high schools for school students. Each school has a different set of testing dates and the school councilor can be contacted for details with respect to it.

Selection of a Testing Location

In some cases, the testing location may not be far but reaching there may be very difficult. In such a case, it is better that you do not choose such locations since you may undergo a lot of stress trying to reach the testing location. Moreover, if you want to make sure that the accessibility of the center is good, you can try to go to that center yourself and then decide on it.

3. Type of ASVAB administered

The version of the test administered plays a very important role in selecting the testing center. The ASVAB testing locations administer either one of the versions of the test. You have to first decide on the version of the test you want to take up. Based on this, you have to select your testing location.

4. Availability of test date

If you are particular about a test date, then you must check where that testing date is available. This availability will play a crucial role in selecting your testing location.
