Registration for ACT Made Easy

The registration for the ACT test is not a complex process, but the details can seem a little confusing. This article can help you and guide you through the registration process. There are different ways in which you can register for the ACT. These are discussed as follows:

The method of registration for the ACT test that is most commonly used is online registration. This is because it is quick and easy and you can check the availability of test centers and test dates as you register. For online registration for the ACT test, you need to create a student web account, log in and enter the required information. You can use the following link to create an account and to register online: https://services.actstudent.org/OA_HTML/actibeCAcdLogin.jsp.

Online registration is permitted for all the following criteria:

  • You want to take the test at a center within or outside the USA.
  • You are more than 13 years of age.
  • You can use a credit card to pay the registration fees.
  • You require accommodations due to a disability or any health reason.

The conditions under which you are not permitted online registration for the ACT test are:

  • You are younger than 13 years of age.
  • You cannot pay the registration fees by credit card.
  • There is no test center available within a 50-mile radius of your home in the USA or Canada; or you are a resident of a country other than the USA or Canada and there is no test center in your country.
  • There is no non-Saturday testing at a center within 50 miles of your residence (if you are in the USA), or in your country (if you are living outside the USA). Non-Saturday testing is permitted for those students who cannot take the test on a Saturday due to religious convictions.

For the first two criteria, you can register by mail. You need to make a request for a register-by-mail packet. It will be sent to you in about a week's time. For the next two criteria, you can request for Arranged Testing.

You can request for standby testing if you were unable to register for the test by the deadline. You have to bear an additional fee for standby testing. You have to create a web account and download the appropriate form, fill it in and bring it to the center. If seats are available you will be allowed to take the test.
