The percentile rank is considered as the selection index for college admission authorities. This rank along with that of high school is used for calculating the combined percentile score.

The composite scores usually correspond to the percentile rank along with the percentage of correctly answered questions. To make the relation between the composite scores and the percentile rank more clear let us take a look at an illustration.

For example if the composite score is 31, then the percentile rank will be 99 % and the percentage of correctly answered questions will be 90%. Next if the composite score is 26, then the percentile rank will be 90% along with 75% as the correctly answered questions. When it will be 23, then the percentile rank will be 76% and 63% will be the percentage of correct answers.
